Weekend Recap:

***

We saw the Night at the Museum - Battle of the Smithsonian and I liked it. The movie was both funny and very entertaining. I loved the little Einsteins, the cupids and The Thinker and the pharaoh Kamurah both played by Hank Azaria. He is very funny - his accent is hilarious! If you want to be entertained you should go see it.

***

We heard about this new Vietnamese restaurant and finally had to go there after the movie for dinner. The decor was mediocre, the service was fast and friendly. We ordered Pho Ga (chicken noodle) and Pho Dac Biet (the house special) which were both good.

May302009 006

Pho was served with fresh basil, bean sprouts, lemon wedges and jalapeno slices.

***
Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA western conference last Thursday and last night was the eastern conference finals. The Orlando Magic won and I can't wait for the finals to start!

Disney Land vs. Disney World! har har har

I like Kobe and I also like Dwight - so confused on who to cheer for when the game starts!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend lovelies!

It's Friday and it was time to unwind after a hectic week at school and work, we went to dinner at Pattaya Thai Grille - a local restaurant. The place was nice - Buddha heads on red walls, black granite tables, open kitchen concept - the place was cozy.

We ordered Golden Squares for appetizer. Crisp fried firm tofu on top of bed of greens and shredded carrots. Served with sweet chili cucumber salad and a peanut sauce.

pattaya (2)

For main course, we had Padt Kee Mau and Red Beef Curry.

Padt Kee Mau is the spicy version of Pad Thai with hot basil, chili and garlic. It is also known as Drunken Noodles.

pattaya (12)

We ordered the Red Curry hot thinking of how it was in previous experiences. And woooh! It was really hot! That didn't stop us from eating it though as the coconut milk based curry sauce was just divine. It was served with Jasmine brown rice.

pattaya (10)

And for dessert, we had to taste their Crunch Wrapped Bananas. Coconut ice-cream drizzled with chocolate sauce, topped with Kiwi and peanuts and surrounded by crunchy rice shell wrapped bananas with honey and sesame seeds.

pattaya (26)

It was a good dinner and another Thai restarant added to our lists of "palate" places.

Enjoy your memorial day weekend lovelies!

Ever had that feeling where you have that closet full of clothes with nothing to wear? That's how I felt yesterday morning. One thing I know for sure, it's Friday so I can wear jeans. There I was standing in the middle of my walk-in and just staring at everything I have for a good 5 minutes. Then I saw my dry cleaned winter jackets still in the bags on the corner, decided to move them where they are supposed to go. Glad I did cause there it was, this jacket that I forgot I had. I found this top at Anthropologie and fell in love with it. It has that vintage feel with the modern cut. The colors are fresh and the three fourths sleeves are perfect for spring. Ever bought stuff you forget you have?

Angels and Demons

Anyway, we saw Angels and Demons last night. A movie based on the novel by Dan Brown. Robert Langdon's (Tom Hanks) character is back to trace a 400 year old trail of ancient symbols to save the Catholic Church from a deadly threat posed by the resurgence of the Illuminati - an ancient secret brotherhood. He was assisted by Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) an Italian scientist, and the Carmerlengo played by Ewan McGregor.

The scenes were mostly shot in the Vatican City and were stunning. The movie was well made, very much what you would expect from Ron Howard. It has more action than the Da Vinci Code with a few twists in the end. Overall, I would say I liked the movie.

xs:
I am leaving you with that for now, I will be a little late in replying to your comments. I have my CAPSIM exam on Wednesday and will need to study for it. Yes, my Summer A classes have started. It's a grueling 6 weeks of 3.5 hours per meeting. But I can almost see the light at the end of the Grad school tunnel and it will be worth it!

So, with that said, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend my lovelies!!

Hi lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I sure did =)

We watched Wicked on Saturday and it rocked! Glinda (Helene Yorke) and Elphaba (Marcie Dodd) were rock stars! The play was based on the novel by Gregory Maguire with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Listen to some of the amazing music here.

Popular - Wicked

We almost didn't see it because the tickets were sold out and I had to scour the internet for it. I like watching plays but this by far was the most fun I have seen. I have always loved the Wizard of Oz as a kid and have probably watched it a million times. But this play has given me a different perspective on the witches of Oz. Wicked is definitely on top of my list. If you haven't seen it and have the chance, do see it. It is well worth it!

After the play, we went to dinner at The Brick (our new favorite dinner place) where everything was scrumptuous as usual. This time instead of getting my favorite Creme Brulee I ordered the Chocolate Torte. I was not disappointed. It was heavenly!

Sunday, I could not be with my mom so I called her and we talked for at least an hour. Oh how I miss her =( .

We then had late lunch and then the ladies and I went shopping. How was your weekend?

Happy Monday lovelies!

I'm going shopping!

And these are on my shopping list:

Apparently I'm rich! rich! rich! I've "WON" several lotteries amounting to several millions of British Pounds! See, I opened my email this morning and lo and behold - I received the following emails:

And then, reality kicked in - I was just dreaming. And these are just phising e-mails. The contents of which were idiotic. Hilarious even.

Anywho, wouldn't it be nice if these were true? What would you do if you won the lottery?

Happy Thursday lovelies!
