No Heels for You!

No Heels for You!
Created by on Polyvore
I have mentioned in my last post that I am undergoing treatment for my back problem. Not good right? The worse part of it all is that I have been forbidden to wear my heels. Who? What? When? How can I possibly dress up without heels? And so after scouring my closet for some flats that I can wear, it dawned on me that I have only a miniscule amount of flat shoes. Panic! Panic! Panic! And so now, my current obsession are pointed toe flats that will hopefully deliver the sexiness of heels without getting into bigger problems with my back - at least for the mean time that my doctor is trying to fix it. Ha! And of course, there is a bright side to this - it gave me an excuse to go shoe shopping!

Here are a few of my favorites:
  1. Gabriella Flat by Kate Spade (here)
  2. Rockstud Ballerina Flat by Valentino (here)
  3. Terry Flat by Kate Spade (here)
  4. Huron Flat by Franco Sarto (here)
  5. Alice Pump by Diane von Furstenberg (here)
  6.  Carrie Flat by VC Signature (here)
  7. Ara Flat by Diane von Furstenberg (here)
  8. Debbie Flat by Via Spiga (here)
  9. Ginny Too Flat by Kate Spade (here)
  10. Annulio Flat by Ivanka Trump (here)
  11. Dakota Loafer by Tory Burch (here)
  12. Chicago Flat by VC Signature (here)
  13. Norella by Kate Spade (here)
Which one is your favorite?

Happy Friday ladies!

Look: Mustard Yellow

Another fall color  that I  love is mustard yellow.  This color is so versatile you can pair it with almost every color.  You can pair it with black, navy blue, grey, cognac, earth tones such as browns and taupe or even go neutral.

sweater dress: H&M (here)
leggings: Express (here)
boots: Cole Haan (Nordstrom exclusive here)
bag: Louis Vuitton - Verona PM (here)
bracelets: Express (old; similar here)
and Pandora (here)
necklace: BCBG (old)

I love these Cole Haan pair of boots. They are so cute, the leather is so soft and they are so comfortable I have gone shopping in them. Cole Haan boasts of using Nike technology in their boots. It works.

What do you think about mustard yellow? Do you have a favorite pair of boots?

Happy Thursday lovelies!

Tey

Shopping: Fall Wardrobe

I hope you all had a great weekend as we did. I am starting mine with a picture from my recent visit to one of my happy places...

Louis Vuitton at the St John's

I can almost smell fall in the air and did I mention this is my favorite time of the year? I just love cool crisp air, the colors and the reminder that my favorite holidays are coming.

Last week I was looking at my closet and realized I needed to do a little bit of updating to my fall wardrobe. I don't need a lot but I do have a few items I wanted. So, while my stepdaughter and I were shopping for some decorations for her room, I managed to grab a couple of items:

The Ramona Henley top from Anthropologie which will look really cute with a skinny colored jeans and boots:

Our next stop was Fossil. Although I don't care much for their other stuff, I did like some of the cute clothes they have. I found a top in wine color from Fossil but I cannot find a picture of the top online.
I also have my eyes set on this tunic dress also from Fossil but didn't have the chance to try it on since we were in a hurry. This would look really cute with a pair of tan boots.

Ginger Dress from Fossil

I also did a little online shopping and managed to snag a good deal for a pair of the Cole Haan "Poppy" boots from Nordstrom.

Are you ready for fall?

Happy Monday!

Look: Winter Chill

Love our weather here in the south this week! In the low 40s and high 60s!

I like layering clothes since I can add more to what I am wearing when it is cold and take a layer or two off when it is warm. The key is to layer thinner tops and fitted tanks so as not to look chunky. Boots tucked under the jeans are very warm and comfortable. I opt for classic styles that will last me the whole year and that I can still wear the following year.

Look: Asymmetrical top and Girl's Night Out

I took this outfit post the night before our night-out while I was trying to figure out what to wear. I knew I didn't have time to go back home to change so I had to bring whatever I will be wearing. It took me a while to decide until I remember about this top that I got from Nordstrom that I haven't worn even once!

What I am wearing:
top: Nordstrom (also here)
jeans: Antik
shoes: Calvin Klein
accessories: Express
bag: Leonello Borghi

As expected, I left my necklace =(

Anyhoo, the ladies and I are celebrating 2 significant events in my life - one being the graduation and another major change ;-) .

First Stop, J Alexander's. For starters we had their Mexico City Spinach Con Queso served with tortilla chips and our cocktails. For dinner, we all had steak! Ha ha I guess we were all hungry that night =)

Ladies Night Out Aug '09 003

"B" and I had the Martini Au Chocolat which is a decadent blend of Godiva dark chocolate liqueur, Grey Goose Vodka and a splash of French Vanilla. Sooo good! While "O" had a Pomegranate Martini which she really loved as well.

Next stop, dessert at the Grape. A wine tasting bar which has very good desserts and live music on Fridays and Saturday nights. The music was live acoustic that night which provided for a relaxing evening perfect for girls' chit chats.

Did I mention the dessert was to die for? We ordered their Chocolate Ganache Cake which is made of decadent chocolate ganache and chocolate sponge cake with roasted hazelnuts and fresh berry coulis. Yummy!

We had such a wonderful time I can't wait for the next!

How was your weekend lovelies? Tell me, I want to know!!
