Happy New Year!

Happy New Year lovelies!

I hope you all had a wonderful new year.

I am still catching up on all that is going on in the blogosphere and will definitely drop by and say hi to your blogs =).

Here are some pictures from our recent visit to Asheville, NC on Thanksgiving. If you haven't been there, I suggest you add it to your bucket list because it is gorgeous!

Biltmore Estates (http://www.biltmore.com)
The largest private home in America and boasting 8,000 acre backyard will leave you breathless (figuratively and literally)!

Blue Ridge Park Way

GG and I drove the parkway the day before we headed back home. We were so tired from all the tours we did at the estate so we were just looking for a photo opportunity. After one overlook, we were hooked. We reached the peak and it was amazing (and freezing)!!!

It's been awhile since I've done a work outfit post so this is way over due.

I don't usually like paperbag skirts on me because it shortens my torso. However, when I saw this skirt I knew I need to have it. Besides, it was one of those Memorial day only deal that you just can't resist.

How was your weekend my lovelies? And how is your week going? I just need to get this school paper done that is due this week. Just 10 more weeks then we can celebrate. Please bear with me if I visit your blogs late. I will catch up and hopefully not miss anything significant going on with you all.

I really, really appreciate all of your sweet comments. It always brings a smile and makes my day!

Have a great week lovelies!

double breasted swing jacket: Anthropologie

black.white striped tank: Banana Republic

The following picture is my failed attempt not to smile =)

I am not a big fan of the swing jacket but I love the girlie silhouette and the rolled puff sleeves of this one. It is made of cotton too which made it perfect for spring.

These Bally flats are one of the most comfortable patents I own. They are so soft and so flexible. You can never go wrong with their shoes in terms of comfort. The styles are a little more conservative but they are coming up with really good designs now. Just look at this one that I am drooling over. I remember back when I got my first salary from my very first job, I spent most of it buying gifts for my parents. The gift I got my dad was a pair of Bally shoes =) .

I also toyed with the idea of combining the stripes with plaid thus the bag. This is probably considered vintage now since I do not see RL making this old signature pattern of his. Plus I like its boxy shape so I kept it all these years.

Finals is next week and I have a lot of studying to do. So, I volunteered (ha ha) my sister Coco to do the post for me. She's more than just a fashionista she's also an amazing writer! ( She reads my blog so I'm hoping that was enough to convince her to do it ;-) ). As my 3 year old nephew puts it when he wants something - "Love you Coco!"

I am also dreaming of Cabo right now (blogged about it here) and the Bahamas Cruise. Unfortunately, it will have to wait until after summer. I also feel guilty spending in this economy specially with no clear picture of when it will recover. Knowing that a lot of people out there are penny-pinching does not help me get in the mood either. As the old saying goes, save up for the rainy day.

What about you lovelies? What are you doing this weekend? Have you started planning your summer vacation? Would you rather save up or go?

I hope you're having a great week lovelies!

A day in the office...

Taking a break from a hectic schedule...

What I am wearing:
top: Banana Republic
belt: Baker's
wide leg pants: BCBG MaxAzria (seen here in black)
shoes: Diane Von Furstenberg
accessories: White House Black Market
bag: Bally (details below)
coat: Tulle (Nordstrom)

The bag was one of my good buys last year. I'm not a big fan of bags that screams the "logo" of anything, but this one is very subtle and I love the touches of pink with the gray.

Oh excuse the hair, i still need practice with my new curling iron =) (and prevent finger burns!)

Time flies so fast, it's weekend again.

Enjoy your day my dahlings!
