Misc: Oh the joy of shoes!

Happy New Year lovelies! I hope you all had a great New Year celebration as we have.

At the Crab Cake Factory

Finally, all the madness of shopping and rushing to find the perfect gifts, wrapping, cooking and tons of eating is over! I loved all the gifts I got for Christmas - everything with meaning and purpose =). However, there are small stuff that just spelled M-E!

So, I would like to share this present from our little munchkins that made... my heart beat fast... my eyes open wide in delight... my hands shake with excitement when I opened it!

Okay, maybe I am being too melodramatic but I really love my present!

Although my week was a bit crappy due to sinus infection, I have a lot to be thankful for this year...
  • My family - daddy, mommy, my sisters, nephew and niece, brother-in-law - for their unconditional love and support
  • My GG - who never ceases to amaze me and make me feel how truly blessed I am... not enough words to say how happy and thankful I am to Him for you...
  • My little angels: Noah, Charlotte, Mikayla, Brucie and my other baby Matt...
  • The VJs for welcoming me into their happy and loving family...
  • My gorgeous ;-) friends
  • My work and the wonderful people I work with for hanging tough and working harder these past months due to the economy's downturn...
  • My little Boemee
  • Blogging - which has opened new doors and introduced wonderful and fabulous bloggers to me - Thank you so much my lovelies!!!!

Misc: Home is where the heart is....

I was going to do my weekly outfit post but rather decided that this is more important than that. My dad's birthday was on Friday. I called him and my mom and asked them how they are doing and what their plan was. They said they will just go to dinner and stay home since the weather forecast was not good.

The following morning, I found out that a typhoon hit Metro Manila and caused flash floods. My parent's house was not affected but my lola's house (grandmother's) was submerged in water. A neighbor had to help her get on the roof where she stayed there overnight with their dog while my Lolo (grandpa) got stranded on the road. J's house also suffered the same fate. The entire Metro Manila was flooded within a matter of hours. Death toll is now up to 140 (CNN).

Some pictures around Metro Manila:

Sorry to start the week with such a bad news. It is in times like these that I tend to become sentimental about being away from my parents. I will have to fly thousands of miles to get to them. It was such a relief to hear their voices after none of my calls got connected and no response from my text messages until Saturday morning (we are 12 hours behind). I am just glad they are safe and doing okay.

Prayers go to the families of all who were affected.

Misc: Back to reality...

I'm back in my "neck of the woods" as Al Roker puts it and I'm terribly missing my niece and nephew =(. And of course we "tres marias" got to spend time together =))

I now know who the Wonder pets are and i keep hearing their song in my head: "what's gonna work? team work! what's gonna work? team work! wonder pets!" and everything else that is airing on Noggin.

We had tea parties

and Autobot vs. Decepticon battles (of course I was made the Decepticon)

BumbleBee

The vacation was a blast. I wouldn't have spent it differently. Spending time with them was a lot of fun and surprisingly relaxing =). I started remembering how fun it was to be a kid with no cares in the world.

And just when I got used to the time difference I am now adjusting again to the East Coast time. HA!

Oh, and just wanted to share this addition to my fall wardrobe that I really really love!

I hope you are all having a great week!

jump start Monday

How was your weekend?

Mine was eventful. Dinner out on Friday night, Saturday I met my dear friends Trixie and Rodgin at the Town Center. We shopped a little - got really good deals at Banana Republic since they sent us coupons for additional 30% off. Wouldn't miss that of course so I went home with a couple of cute dresses and a top. (You all probabaly guess it by now that I shop there and BCBG a lot.) When I'm with them, Starbucks is always a part of the itinerary. It's always good to see them as I always have tons of fun. Rodgin is such a darling and he always cracks me up. He is the most talented pianist ever! Trixie is the sweetest and keeps me in check. =)

Saturday didn't end there, off I went to dreaded Home Depot for my garden essentials. Yes my dear - I had to replace some of the plants that didn't make it through the winter. Not my cup of tea but I had too since I already received a notice from the HOA. My gardener had gone AWOL and I will not risk getting another notice =(. I am still not done! Sunday was spent doing the same thing and we managed to finish planting the new flowers and bushes. Then comes mulching - but this time instead of mulch, I decided to use the red lava rocks. Hmmm.... it was already dark by the time we finished so I don't know how it will look in the morning. I miss living in a town home where I do not have to worry about landscaping! I'll take a picture when all the rocks have been laid down. I was so tired and proud of the work we've done that I ended up rewarding myself with 2 slices of cheesecake and another dessert...

So, I hope your weekend was less "physical" than mine ;-)

Anyway, it's Monday again and this video got me cracking up and thought I'd share it with you all - Happy Monday!
